2023 Winter MONDAY PYOTeam Indoor 6s Volleyball League

What is PYOTeam League?

As a "Pick Your Own Team" (PYOTeam) League, players will self-organize teams to register. Only TEAM CAPTAINS and TEAM PLAYERS can register. 

FREE AGENTS can register for the SUNDAY DRAFT LEAGUE. 

CGVA's Newest Rating & Division System

Out with the old, in with the new! We have unveiled a new rating and division system. You can learn more about at CGVA.org under the menu "RATINGS & DIVISIONS".

RATED & UNRATED players can register.

Whether you have an official rating, provisional rating, or no rating at all, any TEAM PLAYERS can register. 

TEAM CAPTAINS:

Team Captains must register first and already have an established CGVA official rating in your account. Ratings are viewable on your cgva.org account dashboard.

RATED TEAM PLAYERS:

Team Players can register at their rated level or above with captain and league director approval.

UNRATED PLAYERS:

Unrated players will be required to register under the UNRATED League. You will be asked which division you think you most qualify for and the team you request to join. You will be given a provisional rating and moved to that team with Team Captain approval.

League Length:

MONDAYS - Up to 12 weeks

10 weeks of pool play

2 weeks of Tournament Play

POOL PLAY:

Mondays, January 16 - March 27th

(Skip April 3rd for Last Dig NAGVA Tournament)

April 10th

TOURNAMENT PLAY:

Mondays, April 17th & 24th

Cost:

$90 per person paid at time of registration.

Roster Format:

6x6 any gender combo.

OPEN PLAY/SCRIMMAGE:

This is a great time to get some practice, meet the community, and when announced, practice with your team.

Play Format:

2 Matches, 2 games per match. Total of 4 games per night.

Each match a team will be reffing.

Scores played to 21, with a cap of 23 points.

Match Times:

Sessions will include 3 teams on each court. Two playing and one reffing.

Forfeits are 15 minutes after start time.

SESSION 1 ROTATION:

6:40pm --- Doors Open

6:40pm - 6:50pm --- Warmup

6:50pm - 7:25pm --- Match Rotation 1

7:25pm - 7:30pm --- Break

7:30pm - 8:05pm --- Match Rotation 2

8:05pm - 8:10pm --- Break

8:10pm - 8:45pm --- Match Rotation 3

8:45pm - 8:50pm --- Promptly leave court for next session games.

SESSION 2 ROTATION:

8:50pm - 9:00pm --- Warmup

9:00pm - 9:35pm --- Match Rotation 1

9:35pm - 9:40pm --- Break

9:40pm - 10:15pm --- Match Rotation 2

10:15pm - 10:20pm --- Break

10:20pm - 10:55pm --- Match Rotation 3

11pm --- Doors Close
