ABOUT CGVA's RATINGS & DIVISION SYSTEM

Welcome to the new CGVA Rating & Division System

We are unveiling a new system that includes getting an individual rating (1-7) and divisions that are now named colors

RATINGS:

Individuals ratings are from 1-7.

1 being the most advanced to 7 being recreational.

See your rating on your cgva.org account dashboard via a browser on your phone or computer. (Currently it does not display in the app, League Apps.)

DIVISIONS:

Taking inspiration from the  P  R  I  D  E  Flag, division names will now be colors.

Most advanced (RED) to Recreational (BLUE).

To allow for the nuances of calculating skills, some ratings can register for multiple divisions.

 RED  DIVISION = RATING  1-2

 ORANGE  DIVISION = RATING  2-3

 YELLOW  DIVISION = RATING  3-4

 GREEN  DIVISION = RATING  4, 5, 6, 7

 BLUE  DIVISION = RATING  5, 6, 7

REPRESENTING PRIDE FLAG COLORS

So why are we moving to a color naming system, you ask?

  • We want to create a more inclusive community that encourages competition without the stigma of ONLY using exclusive hierarchal terminology such as advanced to beginner.

  • Each color on the Pride Flag has a meaning that is a beautiful representation for building community.

  • Each division's color and its meaning is a way to have players build camaraderie and take pride in the division they play for and represent.

So what does each color represent? So glad you asked!
