Are you a Team Captain? 

Here is everything you need to know about your role:

1. You are the lighthouse, guiding light and positive role model for your team and CGVA community at large. 

2. ITEMS YOU ARE REQUIRED TO READ, KNOW, and EMBODY:

3. SUBSTITUTION PROCEDURES.

• Team captains are required to get approval from your Division Reps.

4. KNOW YOUR DIVISION REPS (DR).

• Each division has a representative that will be your contact for everything from sub approvals, rules questions, game disputes, league ideas and suggestions, etc.

• CGVA takes violations of our Code of Ethics very seriously in order to keep a safe, fun and fair space. Please address issues immediately to a your Division Rep in person or by email.

5. MEET YOUR CGVA BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

6. YOU MUST KNOW CGVA INDOOR 6s VOLLEYBALL RULES:

• Read them here.
• If your team has a dispute on the court, your teammates are to bring those to you (not direct them to the other team or referee.) 
• Once you receive a dispute, walk to the ref with the opposing team's Team Captain and calmly and respectfully resolve the dispute. 
• If additional support is needed, ask any present CGVA Board Member for assistance. 

7. YOU ARE REQUIRED TO ENTER SCORES BEFORE LEAVING EACH NIGHT OF GAME PLAY.

• To enter scores download the mobile app LEAGUE APPS PLAY for iOS or Android.
  
• Only Team captains can enter scores. 
• A team captain (from either team) is required to enter scores before leaving each night of game play. 
• Standings, schedules, court designations, and team contact info can be found in the app. 

8. SOME IMPORTANT NOTES: 

• As a CGVA Team Captain and representative, your position is to lead BY EXAMPLE and most importantly HAVE FUN! 
• You will be responsible for upholding good sports-person-ship and help maintain a healthy balance of competition and community building. 
• Each of you are the heart and soul of this community and we want to inspire you to help bring out the best in others as well as yourself.
