2025 FALL SUNDAY Draft League Volleyball
2025 FALL SUNDAY Draft Indoor 6s Volleyball League
HOW IT WORKS:
The DRAFT LEAGUE is where everyone signs up as a FREE AGENT and captains will draft teams in a snake draft format.
DRAFT NIGHT
Draft Night on September 7th at 6:45 PM is mandatory for players. Attendance is essential for the draft process, and players who do not attend are likely to be moved to a lower division per the waterfall draft format. Your attendance is important so all captains can see all players and draft their teams fairly.
If you cannot attend, please email Co-League Directors Matt & Ray at matt@cgva.org & ray@cgva.org so we can organize draft night effectively.
DIVISION & WATERFALL DRAFT FORMAT
CGVA draft leagues are divided into 3 divisions: A, B, & C (not aligned to standard ratings). Skill levels for each division will vary each season based on registrations. See our PYOT division descriptions: typically, A has players who have played in Red/Orange, B has players who've played in Orange/Yellow, and C has players who've played in Yellow/Green.
CGVA now runs a waterfall draft, which means it is more important than ever to attend draft night. Waterfall draft means you are not guaranteed a spot in the division you register for. During draft night, captains in each division will select players until their teams are full, after which any undrafted players will be moved to a lower division. All players who are not drafted in the A or B divisions are guaranteed a spot in the C division.
Players are welcome to try out for a division higher than they have previously played, keeping in mind that you may not be selected. You should not register for a higher division if you cannot attend draft night. Players who try out for a higher division are not eligible to be captains.
NEW: WATERFALL DRAFT OPT-OUT (A & B Divisions)
You must opt-out of the waterfall draft process in your registration to be eligible for a refund after draft night. All players who are drafted to a team are expected to play with that team for the entirety of the season.
Opting-in to the waterfall draft will guaranteed you a spot in the league, and you will be expected to play regardless of which division you are placed in. Once you are placed on a team, you will not be eligible for a refund.
Opting-out will forfeit your spot in the league if you are not drafted in the division you registered for. Players who forfeit their spot will be issued a refund, only if they have opted-out in their registration prior to being drafted on a team.
All players who register for the C division are considered "opt-in" and are guaranteed a spot in the league.
If you would like to change your decision after registration, please update your registration at cgva.leagueapps.com/dashboard or email matt@cgva.org prior to draft night.
RATED & UNRATED players can register.
Ratings are encouraged but not required for the draft league. You will be asked a series of questions that will help the Captains draft all players accordingly.
